It's been too long since my last vacation and I'm dying to
start planning my next adventure. I know I sound a little ridiculous saying that since I
went to San Diego more times than I can count in the past year, and just
over a year ago I was sailing around the Caribbean, but I can't help it. I just
love to travel.
With daylight savings making this week feel especially slow,
I thought a little peek into my favorite vacation destinations would be a fun
distraction.
Italy ~
I am mildly obsessed with Italy. I
just can't get enough, geez I am even dating an Italian! Between my summer
abroad in college, and an extended vacation in 2010, I've been lucky enough to
spend nearly 3 months traveling through this amazing country and I can't wait
to go back! There is still so much to see and do!
St. Vincent & The Grenadine Islands ~
Last year I was invited to join my
friends on a two-week sailing trip through St. Vincent and the Grenadine
Islands. It was nothing short of paradise! The clear blue water and white sandy
beaches are everything you'd expect them to be. We swam with sea turtles, saw
dolphins, went scuba diving and explored the local villages. It was the most
relaxing two weeks, a true vacation!
Maui ~
I've been to Hawaii four times now,
and Maui twice. It is so beautiful and relaxing. Maui holds a special
place for me because I spent a week there with my entire family for my sister's
wedding. We had a spa day, spent hours at the beach, saw countless whales
and dolphins, and had the most beautiful
ocean front setting for my sister on her wedding day. It was by far one of the best weeks of my
life, just relaxing and spending time with my family.
Tuolumne
Meadows ~
As I've mentioned before, I grew up
going to the mountains hiking and climbing. Every year as long as I can
remember we've gone to Tuolumne Meadows in late summer for a family camping
trip. It is so nice to "unplug" and really enjoy the outdoors. Some
of my greatest memories are from our trips here.
France ~
After my summer abroad session ended
in Rome, my parents met me for another week traveling in Europe. After driving north
through Italy to Switzerland and France, my Dad flew home for work and my mom
and took the train to Paris. We spent a week exploring the museums, eating, shopping,
and sipping cappuccinos. It was a magical week. I loved Paris, but I can't wait
to go back to explore the South of France.
Now, on to choosing my next destination!
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
xoxo,
T
I studied abroad in Italy as well, and I'm fortunate that I've been back about six times since then, and I still can't get enough. It's just a magical place, as cliche as that sounds.
