Hello friends! I've missed you!
We had a great time in Cabo! I can't believe we're already home and back to work. It was so nice to relax and unplug for a while. Just what we both needed.

We stayed at Riu Santa Fe, it is an all inclusive resort. They have two great pools and it's right on the beach! |

It's amazing how quickly a week will pass when you're on a tropical vacation! There are many highlights from our trip, it's hard to pick my favorite. On our first full day, we ventured into town to check out the marina and walk around. It was HOT so we ended up walking to the beach and swimming for a while. Our second day, we spent at our resort enjoying the pool and free drinks. But we soon realized, one day of sitting around is about all that we can handle! We both love being active, so we planned some fun activities to keep us busy the rest of the week.
One of my favorite days was our snorkeling cruise. We sailed on a catamaran to a cove to go snorkeling, and the trip included drinks and lunch. I loved being able to sail for a few hours, it reminded me of my trip sailing through the Caribbean a few years ago. The snorkeling was actually really good too, my favorite were the polka dot fish! Despite reapplying sunscreen multiple times, we both ended up a little sunburned that day.
Another highlight was the day we rented a car and drove up the coast to a well known surfing beach, Cerritos. Andrew rented a surfboard and I played with my zoom lens and took pictures of him. When Andrew was done, we headed for Todos Santos to see THE Hotel California. We're big Eagles fans in our family, so it was really fun to see that. We had lunch and margaritas in the restaurant there, before walking around town a little bit.
We went into town almost everyday. Just to walk around, enjoy some street tacos, and sip margaritas. It was nice to get away from the resort for a bit each day. We were really surprised at how dead Cabo seemed to be. It was like a ghost town. We asked around and found out that many locals travel during this time of year since it is so hot there. (Probably why we got such a great deal for our trip). Even our resort felt empty, which was surprising. Towards the end of our week there, it seemed like a lot more guests were arriving, so I think we picked the slowest week of the year to visit. It was actually kind of nice though, we could always find a lounge chair at the pool or seat at the bar. I'm sure sometimes the pool area can feel like a Vegas pool party, so I was happy it wasn't like that during our visit.
Overall, it was a great trip, but I'm glad to be home. We missed Louis SO much! I was so excited to see him when we got back. It was nice getting home Saturday, so we had a full day to do laundry, grocery shop, watch football and get ready to face the real world again.
I hope you all had a great week and enjoyed the guest posts while I was away! I'm so lucky to have such great blog friends to cover for me :)

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, let's go back and take a girls trip. That would be so much fun! I've been wanting to go to Mexico and stay at one of these all-inclusive resorts, because I've heard so many great things about them. But the most important question is, does the hotel room have a jacuzzi bath tub? That is a must for me ;)
2// you're looking gorgeous as always! I love that maxi dress that you're wearing. And that picture of Andrew with his surfboard is so cool. You should put that up in your place somewhere.
3// That beach is really called Divorce Beach?? I wonder how many weddings have taken place there :)
